Question by Penny J: Does anybody know about alternative products to use, instead of the expensive Medifast packaged foods?
Hi!
I was watching an informercial about a diet plan called Medifast. It said to eat one lean meat/fish/chicken/or pork & greens meal per day and 5 other mini-meals or snacks per day, such as: shakes, soups, scrambled eggs, diet bars, oatmeal with different fruits, chili, soy crisps and other packaged ready to eat (just add water and cook in microwave or beat in blender and drink) meals or snacks. The program states a person needs to eat 6 times a day in order to boost a sluggish metabolism and drink a lot of water also.
All that seems very well to me if, coupled with an exercise routine, however; the darn program is soooooooo…. $ $ expensive$ $ .
In order to be able to do the program with Medifast, I would have to sheckle out $ 257.00/month for the 5 daily meals +food!
Does anyone in our online community know how I could substitute those Medifast packaged meals for something equivalent but less expenive? I am at loss and I urgently need to lose the weight due to my health

if you join their online community you can see what the users suggest as alternates. my mom did that program and replaced the snacks with Kraft’s south beach diet snacks and with soy crisps. in some cases the nutritional content for medifast was worse than the stuff she got at the store. the soups are pretty much irreplaceable, as far as i know.
