Question by Kendra Burns: Healthy diet plans and how to lose weight fast?
Im what they call a “pollo vegetarian”. I have just recently got into eating chicken again on occasion. Im been a pure vegetarian for about 3 years. Im not fat but im not skiny either. I want to be more slim and fit. I want to know if any of you know any good daily workout routines or healthier diet plans i should follow. Thanks!!

Pollo vegetarian? LOL… that is an oxy-moron. Why confuse people even more? Vegetarians are misunderstood enough without meat-eaters calling themselves vegetarians.

Anyway, I have found the balanced diet of the American Diabetes Association to be a really great, well-balanced healthy diet.

I’m not diabetic, but my husband is, he dropped 70 pounds and I dropped 40.

Also, drinking green smoothies every day has also been very beneficial (you can google it to find different recipes)… we usually have it as a meal replacement. It makes sure you get a full day’s servings of greens every day, and tastes great, like a regular smoothie. I grow stevia plants and throw the leaves in there to sweeten them up naturally.

Fitday.com is a great free sight where you can keep a diet & wt loss journal. You can keep track of everything you put in your mouth, exercise and how much calories approximately burned, gives you little charts and stuff to show your progress… it’s a great tool.

Deck your desktop. In the beginning, some of my friends sent me complicated spreadsheets to help chart progress. Uh, no – not for me; I’m the kind of guy who likes taking the easy route. As such, I scoured the Web for the best desktop tool and remembered CalorieKing. You won’t find anything easier to use. Trust me, this is the one; I can keep track of everything I eat and expend (without hassle). While the statistic-addicts will love CalorieKing for its thoroughness, the utility was truly designed with non-geeks in mind. The CalorieKing Web site and service are fine on their own, but the downloadable client is what you really want to get. Pay the registration fee, man – how much is your health worth to you?

Keeping a food journal helps you pin point your eating pattern and will enable you to easily modify it. If possible, have your Registered Dietitian review your journal.
Most authorities recommend 30 – 60 minutes of physical activity a day to stay healthy. Also try adding weight-bearing exercises at least 2 times a week. This will help burn some of the unwanted calories.
